A promotional video (seen below) of Nigeria’s biometric identification system by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has refreshed memory of how top government officials including Goodluck Jonathan, former President of Nigeria; his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan; ex-VP, Namadi Sambo; ex-National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, among others, were captured for the unique National Identification Number (NIN) in Abuja, the nation’s seat of power.

The system is part of the National Identity Management System (NIMS) hoped to capture and store the biometric details of everyone in Nigeria, to boost national planning and security, among others, NIMC, the nation’s identity management agency, says.
