
The International Data Corporation (IDC), a leading technology market intelligence provider says it now tracks over 200 smartphone brands globally.
According to IDC as the market becomes increasingly more competitive, new brands of smartphones join the market every quarter with many of the manufacturers focusing on entry level and mid – range models.
Melissa Chau, Senior Research Manager with IDC’s Mobile Phone team says that, “every quarter sees new brands joining the market. IDC now tracks over 200 different smartphone brands globally, many of them focused on entry level and mid – range models, and most with a regional or even single- country focus.”
