Ilorin Innovation Hub is set to launch an AI-generated animation as part of its push to integrate artificial intelligence into the creative industry.
Promoters of the hub say they have also partnered with IHS Towers to support AI-driven projects at the newly launched Ilorin Innovation Hub.
Temi Kolawole, the Managing Director of Ilorin Innovation Hub, disclosed this while speaking on Friday at the InnovateAI Lagos 2025 Conference, organised by AI in Nigeria.

Ilorin Innovation Hub MD: Generative AI is disrupting the creative sector
The newly-launched building of Ilorin Innovation Hub, which he describes as the best Innovation Hub in Nigeria, used a lot of AI-generated arts on the walls of the building. From arts they decided to take it further to animation.
Kolawole says that AI is playing an increasingly important role of generative AI in the creative sector, allowing for faster and more efficient content production.
“No offence to anybody who’s in the entertainment or filmmaking industry, but a lot of people in the industry are actually scared about what AI is about to do. Because AI right now would do in a few minutes what 13 screenwriters or producers would do in a week. And we’re taking advantage of that,” he told attendees at the InnovateAI Lagos 2025 Conference.
Speaking on the uses of AI, he explains that beyond using AI in government in drafting laws, they utilise AI in assessing budget details and data to get recommendations on the next move to make. However, the hub is focusing on generative AI.
“You can literally achieve the same thing that weeks of shooting in a huge expensive studio would achieve, you can do that in a few seconds right now.”
To allow continual smooth running of the Innovation Hub, Kolawole announces that the hub has a partnership with IHS Towers. The alliance is to ensure the sustainability of the hub, and to ensure its use within and around Kwara State, neighboring states and the rest of the country.
“For sustainability reasons, we put it back in the hands of the private sector, because we know how the challenges that might exist in government are actually a reality,” Kolawole adds.
According to him, the goal is to impact as many lives as possible with AI skills. Hence, the hub is doing a lot of training and upskilling young people, not just in data science but also in creative applications like AI-generated art and 3D rendering.
