Lagos. October 6, 2012: Somtochukwu Udom, a young accountant, has emerged winner of a 3-month online education bundle competition organised by global technology giant, Intel Corporation Nigeria in conjunction with leading mobile phone company, MTN Nigeria.

For his insightful and excellent entry, Udom carted home the coveted prize of a Samsung Notebook processor three laptops pre-loaded with three months’ MTN Internet bundle.
The elated winner expressed gratitude to Intel Nigeria and MTN for encouraging him with the gift and facilitating the union of technology and education in Nigeria and Africa.
In his words, “I am excited with the prize and I will use it to train my kids and wards. This education bundle is a very great idea from Intel. In Nigeria, we need to truly maximise technology to boost education. It helps to increase retention and creates a ‘learn and fun’ platform for adults and kids.
“The technology revolution is in full force and we need to make the transition from print-based learning to interactive whiteboards and Web-based references and curriculum. It’s happening faster in some countries than others and we have a long way to go in order to close the digital divide. But I am happy that with initiatives such as this, we are on the right track,” he noted in a statement.
Stanley Muoneke, Intel Nigeria Business Development Director says the company is committed to creating integrated learning packages, contents and platforms. It is therefore working with partners within the ecosystem to innovate and enable people enjoy technology more, live better and enhance the general landscape in Nigeria.
