Systegra Technologies, a subsidiary of Interswitch Group, is gearing up to launch 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) services across Nigeria, in a bold move expected to reshape the country’s telecoms landscape and deepen access to next-generation mobile connectivity, its parent company says.

The company, which holds a Tier-5 Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) licence from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), says it is primed to enable Tier 1, 2 and 3 Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) to deliver flexible mobile services to Nigerian consumers—without the burden of owning costly infrastructure.

“Systegra Technologies” Interswitch says in a statement seen by Technology Times, “is set to launch new 3G, 4G, 5G and IoT services soon, contributing to the nation’s digital transformation and offering customers enhanced connectivity options.”

“Systegra Technologies” Interswitch says in a statement seen by Technology Times, “is set to launch new 3G, 4G, 5G and IoT services soon, contributing to the nation’s digital transformation and offering customers enhanced connectivity options.”

As an MVNE, Systegra Technologies will use the Radio Access Networks (RAN) of leading mobile operators, while deploying its own advanced Switching (Core Network) and Business Support Systems (BSS), including an Online Charging System (OCS), the company says.

With plans to offer 3G, 4G and 5G connectivity, Systegra is collaborating with Amdocs, a global telecoms software firm, to deploy its ConnectX platform in Nigeria—marking a major milestone in delivering scalable, cloud-native services hosted locally on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Jonah Adams, Managing Director of Systegra Technologies, says the new initiative will open up a broader range of digital experiences for Nigerians, providing seamless connectivity and more service options. “At Systegra Technologies, we are committed to driving innovation that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives,” Adams says. “This collaboration with Amdocs strengthens our position as a key enabler in Nigeria’s evolving telecoms ecosystem.”

The Amdocs-powered ConnectX platform integrates Business Support Systems (BSS), Online Charging Systems (OCS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), payment gateways, and a B2B app store, offering over 50 TM Forum-compliant APIs to ensure quick onboarding and operational efficiency for MVNOs.

Mitchell Elegbe, Group Managing Director and CEO of Interswitch, says the partnership aligns with the company’s goal of providing MVNOs and end-users with an unmatched digital experience. “Amdocs convinced us with their multi-tenant capabilities, ease of connection, ultimate flexibility, and rapid time-to-market,” Elegbe notes.

The upcoming rollout is seen as a significant boost to the NCC’s drive to expand innovation and competition in Nigeria’s telecoms sector by opening up new opportunities for virtual operators to thrive, according to Elegbe.

With Nigeria’s mobile market already one of the most dynamic in Africa, Systegra’s launch of 5G and IoT services is expected to accelerate digital transformation, enable new business models, and unlock access to smart infrastructure, education, fintech, and e-health solutions across the country.

Anthony Goonetilleke, Group President of Technology and Head of Strategy at Amdocs, affirms the platform’s impact: “Our SaaS ConnectX platform dynamically scales to meet customer demand and allows nearly limitless flexibility for creating innovative services.”

As Systegra prepares to bring more MVNOs online, the company says the rollout plans to herald a new chapter in Nigeria’s telecoms evolution, where lower barriers to entry drive greater innovation, improved customer choice, and faster connectivity for millions.
