ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference opens March 30

The International Communications Union’s (ITU) World Telecommunication Development Conference, is set to hold in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from March 30 to April 10, 2014.

The Conference is expected to focus on the development priorities and strategies for growth in telecommunications and information and communication technology (ICT) sector under the theme “Broadband for Sustainable Development”.

The theme is of vital interest to the future growth of ICTs, especially in emerging and developing economies, and wherever new business opportunities open up to the rapidly growing ICT industry, according to ITU which adds that the outcome of the Conference, to be tagged “the Dubai Action Plan”, will set the agenda for telecommunication and ICT development over the next four years.
