Nisi Technologies has become the first company to connect to the Warri Point of Presence (PoP) launched by the Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN), expanding local internet interconnection in Nigeria’s South-South region.
“This marks a significant milestone in our mission to deepen Internet interconnection across Nigeria and improve network performance in the South-South region,” IXPN says in a statement seen by Technology Times.
The exchange point, says the addition of Nisi Technologies to the new PoP in Delta State is part of an ongoing strategy to bring peering services closer to end users and improve latency.

“This marks a significant milestone in our mission to deepen Internet interconnection across Nigeria and improve network performance in the South-South region,” according to the IXPN. “Nisi Technologies’ connection to IXPN in Warri is a bold step toward enhancing local traffic exchange and reducing latency for users in and around the region.”

Nisi Technologies, a broadband service provider focused on unlimited internet offerings, is described by IXPN as “innovative, creative, and forward-looking business with a workforce that delivers a high level of customer service and satisfaction.”
With the Warri PoP now active, the Exchange is inviting other internet service providers (ISPs), content providers, and IP-centric organisations operating in the region to peer at the exchange.
IXPN is the Regional Internet Exchange Point (RIXP) for West Africa, with over 80 active networks interconnected. Global internet companies such as Google, Facebook, and Microsoft, as well as all Nigerian Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), are already connected to the exchange.
The development comes as IXPN expands its national footprint to ensure that traffic originating and terminating within the same region does not have to traverse long-distance routes or international networks, which often increases latency and costs.
“Peering at IXPN Warri will greatly boost your operations through faster, more efficient, and cost-effective local traffic exchange,” IXPN says. “Therefore, we invite ISPs, content providers, and other IP-centric organizations operating in Warri and its environs to take advantage of this development.”
The exchange point, which has locations in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, and Kano, is regarded as the largest Internet Exchange in West Africa.
