Stanley Jegede, the CEO of Phase3 Telecom has said women play critical roles in the advancement of technology while canvassing the need for equal opportunity for womenfolk.
According to him, women are proving daily they strongly possess the capacity and ability to innovate and invent in the male-dominated technology sector.
“Phase 3 Telecom is an equal opportunity employer that believes that the role of women in the advancement of technology should not be undermined and must be celebrated because women are proving daily that they strongly possess the capacity and ability to innovate and invent in this field that is often explored by men,” Jegede said.
According to the Phase 3 CEO, his company is an example of technology companies where females “are providing significant leadership in successful engineering, information systems and communications technology operations.”
Jegede made the case for the promotion of acquisition of basic technical skills and digital literacy for females, which he said should be extended to all roles in the tech sector.
He added that by encouraging Nigerian girls to pursue careers in technology, the nation would record expansion in digital businesses and rapid growth in the development of fields such as coding, computing and telecoms.
