Kushal Dutta, Chief Executive Officer at Jovago, the hotel booking platform, says online business entrepreneurs should use responsive mobile payment platforms to drive up e-payments across Nigeria.
Dutta made the call while speaking at a Business Fireside Chat organised by IdeaHub in collaboration with Jovago held at Yaba, Lagos.
At the forum organised on the theme, “How to Effectively Acquire Customers and Strategies to Retain Them” Dutta says that Nigerian business owners should create incentives for those who make online payment so as to encourage the shift from the traditional payment by cash to mobile pay method.
He said when Nigerians are encouraged by marketers and business owners to make payments online, it will in turn encourage many others to start shopping online, and this will in turn make many who are afraid of leveraging on online business to begin to invest in it.
Also speaking at the event, the Head of Ringer Digital Marketing Nigeria (RDM Nigeria), Mark Slade, says that for online business to be successful, online marketers must approach the business with honesty, transparency and integrity.
Slade challenges those in online business to always meet up with what they promise to offer, saying that setting time and meeting up with the time is very important to the growth of online business.
According to him, customer satisfaction should be a priority of the business especially at startup period, and not profit making.
While responding to questions from audience, Adetayo Bamiduro, the co-founder of max.ng, an online package delivery platform, encouraged online business owners to persevere in the job and never to relent because of challenges.
Bamiduro told Technology Times that max.ng will soon launch the max.ng mobile app to enable easy access to their services, for delivery of portable product from one place to another.
The event served as a knowledge-sharing platform between seasoned business owners and startup entrepreneurs.
