Mr. Kayode Akomolafe, former Executive Director, Chamsmobile, has been named the new Managing Director/CEO of the fintech subsidiary of Nigerian tech group, Chams Plc.
“Before his appointment, the company says in a statement, “he was the Executive Director, Chamsmobile. He is an accomplished professional in project management with over 20 years experience in diverse fields which include Identity management, solution design, system architect, customer service, IT operations, and infrastructure.
Chamsmobile is a Mobile Money Operator and it is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to carry out Mobile Money Services such as mobile money wallet creation and management, Agency Banking services, recruitment and Management of Mobile Money Agents, while the firm also deploys other fintech solutions such as Payroll and HR applications for small scale, medium enterprises, and Public Sector.
Mr. Akomolafe also served as the Chief Operating Officer, Chams Plc before he was appointed the Executive Director, of Chamsmobile and subsequently took up the new role as Managing Director/CEO of the fintech company, Chamsmobile, which has also launched the KEGOW mobile banking app to support the financial inclusion drive in Nigeria.

Sequel to joining Chams Plc in 2008, his bio reads, Kayode worked with Aeriel Link Communications, a public relation outfit in Lagos as Business Development executive and Mr Biggs Division of UAC as Operations Auditors and Compliance Manager. He has managed and led different teams to deliver several projects for federal, state and private institutions out of which are ChamsCity digital mall that got the Guinness world record, NCC SIM registration, Nigeria Airforce identity management and staff audit, Nigeria Custom identity management system, Osun state staff audit, including human resources and payroll solution, and the famous national identity project with NIMC.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology from Federal University of Technology Akure, a Master’s Degree in Information System Technology from University of Liverpool, UK and an Executive MBA from Lagos Business school. He is an Alumni of Nanyang Business School, Singapore. He is a certified Scrum Master, a Professional Member of British Project Professional Society, Scrum Alliance USA and Agile Practitioners Association of Nigeria.
The Chamsmobile Managing Director/CEO will be responsible for leading the company that prides itself as the tech solutions provider for several sectors of the economy.
Chamsmobile says it has “deployed solution to make life easy for Pensioners such that they don’t have to queue in the sun just because they wanted to get verified to be qualified for their monthly pension.”
The Chamsmobile I Am Alive remote verification solution has helped numerous pensioners home and abroad to fulfil the statutory yearly verification exercise while their monthly Pension is secured, the company says.
