The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has commenced its recruitment exercise that will require applicants to take a computer-based test (CBT) as part of the selection process.
Mallam Bello Abubakar, TESCOM Chairman, says in a statement on Tuesday that the application portal will be open from midnight on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, till February 14, 2025.
Abubakar wants applicants to carefully read the guidelines on the portal before submitting their applications.
“All applicants are advised to read the press statement initially issued on the recruitment process. The statement is on the portal for ease of reference,” he says.
The TESCOM Chairman says that only candidates with a university degree in relevant subject areas should apply, stating that holders of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) without a university degree are ineligible.
“Applicants who meet the first-layer recruitment criteria,” Abubakar says, “will be invited for a computer based test (CBT) at a centre closest to their local government of residence.”
According to him, candidates who pass the CBT will proceed to the interview stage, after which successful applicants will undergo drug tests at National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)-approved centres, along with other verification exercises before employment letters are issued.
“This process, for the record, will strongly balance between qualification, competence, employability, and availability to work in the hinterlands/rural areas where we mostly require teachers,” the statement added.
TESCOM says that interested individuals are to apply through its recruitment portal within the application period.
