The Lagos State Government and ARM Group say they are launching ICT Centre to serve as a model for using technology innovation in learning.
They hope that the ICT Centres and two Libraries hoped to make learning more efficient and accessible in Lagos.
Ireti Senior Secondary School and Falomo Senior High School, Ikoyi, both in Lagos, are first batch of beneficiary of the Project 350 initiated by the State Government under its “Access to Knowledge” intervention programme.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr. Obafela Bank-Olemoh, said the ICT centers and libraries were built as part of the State Government’s Project 350 through the building of libraries and ICT centers in secondary schools across the Lagos State.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Special Adviser expressed gratitude to the management of ARM group for collaborating with the State government in realizing its vision to expand access to knowledge for all Lagosians regardless of their socio-economic background.
Lagos State said that the Project 350 initiative falls under the Access to Knowledge programme that includes the creation of Lagos Digital Library, an online library which will serve as an Education Portal and a repository of knowledge for the use of Lagosians; as well as the Adopt-A-Library project, a private-sector driven initiative to upgrade all the state-owned public libraries.
