Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry says it will partner with the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology to promote information and communication technology (ICT) in Lagos State.
Mrs. Fola Gbogbode, Chairman, Capacity Exhibition Committee of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, dropped this hint when she paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the Minister of Science and Technology.
Mrs. Gbogbode, informed the Minister of the Chamber’s maiden edition of information and technology exhibition slated for 26th to 29th July, 2016.
According to her, the purpose of their visit was to forge more collaboration with the Ministry and seek measures that will promote ICTs. It is also to seek close collaboration with the Ministry in the area of technical and professional competence available in the Ministry.
The Minister commended the Chamber on the giant strides and contributions it has made in the development of locally-made products which, according him, has led to their being the foremost promoters of businesses in Nigeria.
The Ministry’s core target is that ideas developed from researches are market-driven and that the products are beneficial to all Nigerians, given the fact that the present administration is fully committed to diversification of the economy, Onu adds.
