The Lagos State Government says the proposed e-birth registration by the National Population Commission (NPC) would provide accurate data for the government.
Mrs. Bolaji Dada, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) in Lagos State, who said this also commended the enlightenment campaign on the proposed e-birth registration in the state by the NCC.

During a recent courtesy visit to the Ministry, Mrs. Dada welcomed Barrister Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye, the Federal Commissioner representing Lagos State on the board of the National Population Commission (NPC), and her team.

The NPC was established in accordance with section 153 (J) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with key responsibilities of conducting periodic enumeration of the population of Nigeria through censuses, sample surveys, or other methods. The Commission is also tasked with establishing and maintaining machinery for continuous and universal registration of births and deaths across the Federation, providing advice to the President on population matters, publishing and disseminating information and data on population to support economic and development planning efforts, and appointing, training, or arranging for the appointment and training of enumerators and Commission staff.
