The Lagos State Government says its newly-launched mobile app for packaged water producers will help to safeguard public health in the state.
The Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LASWARCO), the regulatory body responsible for ensuring safe drinking water for the citizens of Lagos, says the mobile app is the first of its kind by the agency.
The purpose of the mobile app, LASWARCO says, is to facilitate seamless digital registration and certification for packaged water producers in Lagos State.

Adepoju underscores the essential role of stakeholders in the water sector and the significance of water, sanitation, and hygiene in safeguarding public health.
“As the regulator,” the Executive Secretary of LASWARCO says, “we have continued to upgrade the methods of accreditation to ensure that water service providers adhere to regulatory guidelines to safeguard the people of the state hence the introduction of information technology via the dedicated application to make registration and licensing convenient for the producers while ensuring compliance and feedback between the stakeholders and the regulator seamless.”
The launch event took held July 16 at Alausa Ikeja, and was attended by stakeholders including Mr Kunle Rotimi-Akodu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on the Environment and Water Resources, Engr. The commission’s primary objective is to regulate, monitor, and control all aspects of the water sector to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality and sustainable water supply and wastewater management services for both current and future residents of the state.
