The Lagos State Government says it is developing a mobile application aimed at transforming how farmers access agricultural inputs, as the state continues leveraging technology to boost local food production and empower smallholder farmers.
Olufolake Oluyemi, General Manager of the Lagos State Agricultural Input Supply Authority (LAISA), announces that the upcoming LAISA mobile app is being designed to enable farmers to easily purchase essential inputs online, including seeds, fertilisers, and agrochemicals.
Mrs Oluyemi discloses the new tech initiative during a Yoruba-language programme, Ile Ise Asoju Oba Eko, aired on Lagos Traffic Radio, where she says LAISA is pursuing sustainable, tech-driven solutions to the most pressing needs of farmers across the state.

“These include the development of a dedicated LAISA mobile application to enable farmers to access and purchase agricultural inputs online,” she says, adding that the app will serve as a digital bridge between the government and farming communities.
Since assuming her role six months ago, Mrs Oluyemi says she has been prioritising direct engagement with farmers to better understand their challenges and adapt services accordingly.
“Under my leadership, LAISA will operate on the principle of direct engagement and understanding,” she says. “The era of LAISA assuming it inherently knows the needs of Lagos farmers is over.”

The LAISA app, Mrs Oluyemi says, is forming part of a broader digital strategy to bring government-backed farming support closer to the grassroots while also fostering partnerships with cooperative societies to enable input purchases through thrift mechanisms.

As Lagos faces rising food demand from its rapidly growing population, the state government says it is increasingly adopting smart farming tools and mobile platforms to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity in the agriculture sector.
When launched, the LAISA app is expected to offer real-time access to input inventory, online payment integration, and possibly delivery logistics—features that could modernise how Lagos farmers do business.
With digital agriculture gaining momentum across Nigeria, the Lagos government says its mobile-first approach is positioning the state at the forefront of e-agriculture innovation to enhance food security and support rural livelihoods.
