Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says the future of commerce is digital while commending Jumia on the launch of an integrated warehouse in the state by the e-commerce company.

The Governor expressed the determination of his administration to identify with and provide continuous support for initiatives that drive economic growth and provide employment opportunities for the people.

Technology Times had reported that Jumia opened the integrated warehouse located on Lagos-Apapa Expressway in Lagos as part of the online retailer to expand its stakes in the Nigerian e-commerce market. The opening of the Jumia Nigeria integrated warehouse on Monday this week, coinciding with the launch of a similar facility in Morocco  streamlines processing and delivery of orders to customers of the e-commerce company, Francis Dufay, Jumia CEO said.  Jumia said it has expanded its connectivity and capacity by establishing the 30,000 square metre warehouse located in Lagos, Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Governor Sanwo-Olu represented by Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment, described the cutting-edge facility, which is a consolidation of all Jumia warehouses into a singular depot in Lagos, as a highlight of the crucial role the State plays in the economic landscape of Nigeria and Africa at large.

The future of commerce is digital, Sanwo-Olu said, and Lagos is ready to support those who are willing to embrace this change while his administration remains dedicated to creating a conducive environment for businesses to flourish, with robust infrastructure, favourable policies, and unwavering support.
