The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) has dismissed online reports claiming that it has blacklisted several betting operators in Nigeria, describing the publications as “misleading” and “grossly inaccurate.”

According to the regulator, the alleged blacklist, which appeared on websites including e-playafrica.com, telecomasia.net, and africangambit.com, does not reflect its current regulatory position.

“The purported blacklist in circulation is outdated,” LSLGA says “and several of the operators mentioned have since regularised their positions with the Authority and are duly licensed to operate within Lagos State.”

The Authority urges members of the public and industry stakeholders to rely only on its official communication channels for verified information. It adds that updated lists of licensed and unlicensed operators are available on its website.

“We urge members of the public, stakeholders, and industry players to disregard unsubstantiated news from unofficial sources and rely solely on the Authority’s official communication channels for verified information,” the regulator advises.

Reaffirming its mandate, the LSLGA says it remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of the Lagos gaming environment, ensuring compliance among operators, and protecting the interests of the public.
