The Lagos State Government has set an August 15 date for the introduction of the Lagos Revenue Portal (LRP) to streamline bill payments in the state.
This online platform, Lagos State says ahead of the go-live, will streamline bill payments and revolutionise revenue management for residents and businesses in the state.
Abdul-Kabir Opeyemi Ogungbo, Special Adviser on Taxation and Revenue, highlighted the key features of the LRP. According to him, the portal is able to simplify payment procedures by consolidating bills and payments from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) into a single online platform.
According to Ogungbo, users of the LRP will have the convenience of managing, printing, and paying their bills using a variety of payment methods such as credit/debit cards, bank transfers, POS, USSD, and QR codes, all from the comfort of their homes or offices.
This self-service portal aims to modernise revenue management and enhance efficiency in public services, aligning with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s, THEMES+ agenda, Ogugbo says.
By centralising revenue management, the LRP seeks to simplify business operations, improve the taxpayers’ experience, and promote transparency, according to the Special Adviser on Taxation and Revenue.
