Lamina, Memory Links MD dies at 49

Technology Times learnt that the news of the death of the Memory Links MD, aged 49, which occurred after a brief illness at his home located off Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos, spilled into Computer Village this morning.

Ahmed Ojikutu, President of Computer and Allied Product Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN), the umbrella group for businesses in Computer Village, Ikeja, also confirmed the demise of Lamina in a chat with Technology Times.

Details of the cause of death is yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report, but arrangements are underway for the burial expected to hold later today according to Muslim rites, another close friend of Lamina says.

At his Ikeja resident this morning, business associates and well wishers from all walks of life have started trooping into to express their condolences and pay their last respect to the technology entrepreneur.

A family member who confirmed that Lamina was slightly indisposed since Friday but unfortunately gave up the ghost in the early hours of this morning.

According to her, the late MD of Memory Links will be laid to rest today according to Islāmic injunction at a cemetary to be decided by members of the family before noon today.

The office of Memory Links Limited in Computer Village was also locked up when Technology Times visited the outlet this morning.

Before his death, Lamina has built Memory Links Limited, in Computer Village Ikeja into a major technology retail and distributions outlet in the technology market hub.

Lamina’s Memory Links is a key supplier of audio-visual equipment, computer accessories, computer hardware, laptops and allied technologies.

Lamina is survived by his wife and children.
