Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State Governor, has hinted of plans by Lagos to forge technology partnership with Mastercard, the payment technology giant, to support the growth agenda of his administration.

The residence of the helmsan of Lagos State nestled at Lagos House, Marina hosted the management of Mastercard led by Dr. Dimitrios Dosis Mastercard’s President for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, to foster a mutually beneficial partnership, focusing on technology, digitalization, and innovation.

Following the interest expressed by Lagos state Governor on fostering partnership, Sanwo-Olu highlighted the importance of developing backend infrastructure to support Mastercard’s investment initiatives in the aquatic city of splendour.

“Emphasising our administration’s commitment to making technology a way of life, I underscored the potential for collaborative efforts in advancing technology within the region,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Additionally, the Governor envisioned positioning Lagos as a hub of knowledge and innovation while empowering youth in the State to drive positive change globally through their skills and creativity.

The ICT thrust constitutes a key element of the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of the Sanwo-Olu led administration’s six strategic development agenda namely: Traffic Management and Transportation, Health and Environment, Education and Technology, Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, Entertainment and Tourism as well as Security and Governance.
