A levitating man that appears to be floating on thin air and the Nigeria launch of the Jaguar XE featuring one of the most advanced on-board automotive technology are some of the exciting features of Tech+, the nation’s technology showcase event billed to hold later this month in Lagos.
The levitating man was the cynosure of attention Thursday at the Protea Hotel in Ikeja GRA in Lagos where organisers and a list of high profile list of sponsors of Tech+ announced plans for the tech event to hold July 24-25, 2015.
Nigeria’s telecommunications giant, MTN Nigeria Communications Ltd and key industry players in the technology space announced Thursday that they have given their backing to TECH+ planned for the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The endorsement at the media unveiling of the initiative which focuses on showcasing technology at its best “with a view to helping people get the best out of life through optimizing the wide spectrum technological development”, according to the organisers.
The industry leaders include Huawei, Jumia, Google, Coscharis Motors, Samsung, Terragon Group, Enplug Africa, Atlantic Exhibition and Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency (LASAA)
Speaking in his address, Richard Iweanoge, GM, Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria, noted that the global impact of technology across all areas of human endeavour has made it more imperative that people stay in touch with the world around them to be able to identify with technological advancements that could reshape their world.
“As we all know, technology is fast evolving and the world has become a global village where people from across the globe can communicate with one another with just a touch of a button. At times like these, it is important that we stay in touch with the world around us and keep track of the latest innovations that impact our world and our current existence”, he told attendees at the Tech+ unveiling.
According to him, “technology is equally shaping the world of business. Enterprise teams now collaborate face-to-face without travel. Also speaking in her brief remarks, Head of Communications, Jumia, Bertille Guitton says her company’s involvement in Tech+ stems from the important roles technology has played in making life easier. She stated that the company has deployed technology to simplify commerce in the last three years of operations in the country.
Meanwhile, Coscharis Motors has announced plans to launch the Jaguar XE and other range of Jaguar, Range Rover and other automobile brands with cutting-edge automotive technologies at the Tech+ Conference and Exhibitions.
Abiona Babarinde, General Manager, Marketing & Corporate Services, Coscharis Group, says the launch of the Jaguar XE and other automobile from leading global carmakers “is to highlight the importance we attach to the conference’.
