LG Velvet 5G: The Smartphone With Character

With the LG Velvet 5G, the technology company, LG, is making smartphones with expressive names, character, and individuality.

The LG Velvet 5G phone, is one of those premium-looking smartphones that you can tell from the appearance, paint job, large and curved OLED display, and not forgetting the 5G capability.

The faster chipset and camera are also interesting features of this smartphone that comes in six colours: aurora white, aurora green, aurora gray, illusion Sunset, red and pink.

The LG Velvet 5G designers have built us a smartphone featuring a glass front, glass back and aluminum frame body.

Released on May 15, 2020, the LG Velvet 5G price ranges from N269,000 to N290,000 depending on the source you choose to buy from, model and storage capacity.

The LG Velvet 4G smartphone uses Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by). The smartphone’s body is sealed with IP68 dust/water resistance (up to 1.5m for 30 mins) and MIL-STD-810G compliant though this “does not guarantee ruggedness or use in extreme conditions”, according to its makers.

The LG Velvet 5G uses an Adreno 620 GPU and also uses Octa-core (1×2.4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime & 1×2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver) CPU.

It comes with WLAN(wi-fi), Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, Radio and USB Type-C 2.0 as well as USB On-The-Go.

The LG Velvet 5G’s battery is a non-removable Li-Po 4300 mAh with Fast charging 25W, Fast wireless charging 9W, Quick Charge 4.0+ and USB Power Delivery 3.0.

The LG Velvet 5G  smartphone has four model models which are LM-G900N, LM-G900EM, LM-G900, and LM-G900TM models.

The smartphone’s selfie camera has 1080p@30fps video with HDR features, while the main cameras have LED flash, HDR, and panorama features with 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps and gyro-EIS video.

On the LG Velvet 5G, there are only two choices in terms of storage. So, you either decide to go for 128GB 6GB RAM or 128GB 8GB RAM depending on your preference or budget. There is also a slot for a microSDXC card for users interested in expanding their storage capacity can do so.

The LG Velvet 5G smartphone comes in a plain white cardboard retail box with its name imprinted on the box. The box contains an adapter, a USB-A-to-C cable, a set of in-ear earphones and the phone itself.

The LG Velvet 5G pre-orders in some markets will get the buyer extras like the silicone case, a pair of wireless earphones and dual-screen accessory.
