MainOne said it has successfully concluded repairs to its submarine cable system following an outage that occurred in March along the West African coast.
The outage that occurred on Thursday, March 14, 2024, affected several undersea cable companies including MainOne, the undersea cable player owned by Equinix.
According to Mainone, the extensive repair process involved collaborative efforts with regional partners, maintenance providers, vessel owners, and permitting authorities.
Funke Opeke, MainOne Managing Director, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support during the incident.

Through dedicated teamwork, MainOne said it swiftly restored the integrity of its submarine cable, ensuring minimal disruption to its operations.
Throughout the outage period, MainOne prioritised customer service by providing restoration capacity and rerouting traffic on its network, the company said in a statement. This proactive approach helped mitigate the impact on customers and maintain connectivity within the region.
