MasterCard in partnership with Nigeria’s Youth for Technology Foundation (YTF) is organising technology training for 1,500 female entrepreneurs from the Niger Delta region.
YTF said it would be enlisting females from Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross Rivers, Delta, Imo, Ondo, Rivers and Edo for the training.
In addition to provision of tech skills, the women will also receive skills-enhancement training, business management and capacity building skills that will deepen their access to finance.
“Participants will undergo 10 hours of classroom and on-line training as well as networking events designed to allow for exchange of experiences among fellow entrepreneurs. Participants will receive SMS-based messages twice a week with information ranging from business basics, tools, leadership, money management, sales and marketing as well as banking and credit,” YTF said in a statement.
