
itel Mobile has launched the it1556 smartphone into Nigeria featuring the hefty 5,000 mAh battery that the phone maker claims can remain on standby for over 30 days with just one charge.

Understanding this pain point, itel Mobile plans to launch a series of big battery smartphones with the it1556 as the first model of this powerful series.”

itel Mobile launched the new smartphone at the Campus Queen contest held at the Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun State, which was officially sponsored by itel Mobile, the company says in a statement.
According to itel Mobile, “the smartphone features a colourful 5.5″ ample screen and a 5,000 mAh colossal battery that supports over 30 days on standby with just a single charge. The new handset makes its debut in several African countries with a variety of promotional events and digital activities.”
In Nigeria, the phone maker says it chose to sponsor the OOU Campus Queen event as its first step to promote the new model among students. The it1556 was offered to each of the five winners at the event, according to itel Mobile.
Half a month earlier, itel said it organised a related Facebook activity with the election of “Miss itel Power”. The digital event generated over 6600 likes, 266 000 people reach along with numerous comments and shares,the company said.

Other Features of the new model it1556 smartphone include a Quad-Core 1.2 GHz Processor Type, 512 MB of RAM, Internal Storage of 8 GB and MicroSD card up to 32 GB as external storage. It also comes with 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, 2 megapixel Front-facing camera, with video capture enhancement.
The new itel Mobile smartphone costing N20,000 has a dual SIM slots and comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop as its OS with 3G enhancement capacity, according to its maker. It also features v2.1 Bluetooth technology, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot with GPS enhancement, as well as a microUSB v2.0; OTG.
On its multimedia features, the itel it1556 smartphone supports mp3, aac, aac+, eaac+, amr, with mpeg4, h.263, h.264 video support, an FM radio tuner and one loudspeaker.
