Tecno, a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, and GEEKOM, a mini PC manufacturer, have joined forces to develop the MEGAMINI G1, which is touted as the world’s first smallest water-cooled gaming mini PC.
The companies announced that the device is set to launch on Kickstarter on September 5, 2024.
According to its makers, the MEGAMINl G1 is more than just a mini PC as it features an advanced cooling system that is essential for maintaining optimal performance in a compact form factor. The system utilises a large pure copper water cooling head, featuring a heat conduction plate. The device also comes equipped with a dedicated graphics processing unit (GPU).
While specific details about the GPU are yet to the officially released, early indications suggest that the MEGAMINI G1 will be available with a range of options, including Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon 780m, or even Nvidia’s powerful RTX 4060.
According to Tecno, the device is scheduled to launch with two primary configurations. The MEGAMINl G1 13th Core i7-13620H RTX 4060 32GB + 1TB will be priced at $1499, while the higher-end MEGAMINl G1 13th Core i9-13900H RTX 4060 32GB + 2TB comes with a price tag of $1699. Both models provide ample storage and memory to handle demanding tasks.
Beyond performance, the device boasts side panels on three sides, each adorned with RGB light strips, adding a vibrant and customisable lighting element that enhances its visual appeal. The mini PC not only offers a sleek and modern look, but also boasts a robust build quality. Notably, the top of the unit includes an integrated screen, adding a unique touch that could serve various functional and aesthetic purposes.
Known primarily for smartphones, Tecno’s foray into the PC market with the MEGAMINI G1 is an expansion from its Megabook series.
