“Our expanded partnership with Microsoft is an important next chapter in Coca-Cola’s journey toward a digital-first enterprise powered by emerging technologies. Microsoft’s capabilities help accelerate our adoption of AI to create incremental enterprise value,” Tolmare said.

Moreover, the agreement marks a significant milestone in Coca-Cola’s digital transformation strategy. The company will now have access to Microsoft’s cloud and AI platforms, as well as solutions such as Microsoft 365, Power BI, Dynamics 365, Defender, and Fabric.

Coca-Cola said it is exploring the use of generative AI-powered digital assistants on Azure OpenAI Service to enhance its efficiency and scalability while promoting innovation across the system. The aim, according to the beverages giant, is to help employees improve customer experiences, streamline operations, foster innovation, gain a competitive advantage, boost efficiency, and uncover new growth opportunities.

Coca-Cola claimed that it has moved all of its applications to Microsoft Azure. Many of its major independent bottling partners have also followed suit. As a pioneer in the adoption of AI technology, Coca-Cola has been exploring the use of generative AI for almost a year.

The company has already adopted the Azure OpenAI Service to transform various aspects of its business operations, including marketing, manufacturing, supply chain management, and more, according to Coca-Cola.
