Microsoft Nigeria is set to host an AI Tour Lagos by next month for participants to explore the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, the local unit of the US tech giant has announced.

Microsoft Nigeria says that the AI Tour Lagos will hold on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

The tech company says this will offer a unique platform for developers, business leaders, and tech enthusiasts to explore the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. 

The free, one-day event will take place at the National Theatre, Orile Igamu, Lagos, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. GMT+1, and the event is “designed to connect business leaders, partners, practitioners, and the developer community” and aims to “empower you to do more,” Microsoft Nigeria says in a promotional material.

Microsoft, which has supported Nigeria’s technology ecosystem for years, has helped to drive digital transformation across Nigeria, the tech company says. Microsoft says it has helped a number of local businesses and developers adopt modern technologies through the Africa Development Centre in Lagos and numerous training programmes.

The Lagos AI event, the tech company says, will unite business leaders, technical practitioners, and industry partners to highlight how AI can foster innovation, improve efficiency, and unlock growth potential.

The Lagos stop is part of a global tour spanning 61 cities, including major tech hubs like New York, Johannesburg, and Riyadh. Each event is tailored to address local challenges and opportunities while providing a global perspective on AI advancements.

According to Microsoft Nigeria, registration for the AI Tour Lagos is now open, and attendees can expect a packed schedule of keynote presentations and interactive breakout sessions covering how to build AI-powered solutions, protect data and infrastructure, and harness AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to drive efficiencies.
