Dr Mike Adenuga, the Chairman of Globacom, has again said that the ‘spirited efforts’ that led to his entry into the Nigerian telecoms was inspired by his conviction that ‘somebody had to do the dirty job.’
In a rare TV interview with Biscon Communications, owned by Mr Bisi Olatilo, Adenuga, the Chairman of Globacom, went down memory lane to reviews the chain of events that frustrated his attempt to acquire a GSM licence in the Digital Mobile spectrum auctions of 2001.
With benefits of hindsight, Adenuga believes there was nothing ‘personal’ in actions that led to the controversial loss of his CIL licencea and $20 million pre-bid deposits in the interview.
