Barrister Adebayo Shittu, Minister of  Communinications, is billed to the keynote address at the forthcoming Nigeria ICT Impact CEO Forum (NICEF) expected to gather together top C-level executive in the ICT sector.

The conference with theme ‘How Can Broadband Deployment Impact on Nigeria’s Economic Recovery‘ is scheduled to hold August 26, this year at the Sheraton Hotel Ikeja.

The event, which is jointly hosted by ICT Watch Network and Financial Technology will provide a platform for policy makers, regulators, legislators, operators, mobile equipment manufacturers, consumer groups and other stakeholders to chat the way forward in achieving the National Broadband Plan, according to organisers who say the theme is apt because of the current trend of Nigeria’s economy.

The Minister, who will be the Chairman of the event, is expected to be joined by other notable personalities including Prof. Umaru Danbatta, EVC/CEO of NCC, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, Ag. DG of NITDA, Ferdi Moolman, MD of MTN, Ms. Abimbola Alale, MD of NIGCOMSAT, Ms. Funke Opeke, MD/CEO of MainOne Cable.

The event will feature three keynote speakers, three lead papers and two plenary sessions namely on e-Commerce & Government and Media & Broadcasting.

The event will also feature the Africa Digital Awards (ADA) that will honor outstanding individual and corporate achievers that have leveraged on the potent power of ICT.

Individual nominees for the award include Dr. Vincent Olatunji of NITDA; Ms. Funke Opeke of MainOne; Engineer Emmanuel Ekuwem of Teledom Group, Emmanuel Okonji of ThisDay Newspapers, among others. Corporate body nominees include NCC, NITDA, MTN, NIGCOMSAT, NBC, MainOne, YUDALA, CWG, 21st Centuries Technologies, among others.
