MTN Group said that the key management changes cutting across Nigeria, Iran and Uganda will strengthen core leadership in the mobile phone giant’s operations.
Following the change Mazen Mroue, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Uganda, has been appointed as the new Chief Operations Officer of MTN Irancell.
He will be succeeded in Uganda by Brian Gouldie, the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN South Africa.

“We are delighted that we are able to fill these executive management positions from within our leadership ranks, in line with our leadership development strategy,” said Dabengwa.
As of March, this year, MTN Nigeria recorded 51,294,654 active connections in Nigeria and has more than 54 per cent of the telecoms market share, according to official market information by the telecoms watchdog.
MTN has ramped up over 210.1 million subscribers across its 22 operations including Nigeria as of 31 March, this year, the mobile phone company said.
