MTN Group has created a dedicated home broadband division within its Group Commercial unit and appointed Ankur Bajpai to lead the new business unit.

The company has been expanding its home broadband services in key markets, including Nigeria, where it has its Home Broadband router plans. The service aims to improve connectivity for households, enabling remote work, online learning, and streaming.
In a statement released on Tuesday, MTN says the move aims to strengthen its “position in the broadband market by ensuring executional focus, accelerating innovation, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.”
Bajpai, who takes on the role of Executive: Group Home Broadband from April 1, 2025, has over 21 years of experience in business strategy and telecommunications. He has been with MTN for seven years and previously worked at Etisalat Group, Idea Cellular, and Reliance Communications in various leadership roles.
“We are excited to see Ankur take on this role at a time when home connectivity is more critical than ever. His leadership will help us bring practical, high-quality solutions to more households across our markets. I’m looking forward to working with him on this journey,” Selorm Adadevoh, MTN’s Group Chief Commercial Officer, says.
MTN says this new division would focus on Fibre to the Home (FTTH) and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solutions. These technologies provide high-speed internet, particularly in areas where deploying traditional wired connections is difficult.

MTN says “the dedicated function will play a critical role in driving market penetration while achieving sustainable growth through operational excellence.”
