
Huawei, the Chinese telecoms equipment supplier has been awarded a five-year managed services contract by MTN Group, the South Africa-based multinational mobile telecommunications company.
Under the terms of this contract, Huawei will give managed services for MTN Group in six countries including Ghana, Cameroon, Guinea and Benin.
The contract covers a range of services such as managed network operations, network performance management and spare parts management, according to the Chinese company.
Huawei managed services to improve efficiency for MTN
Huawei’s managed services are expected to support the mobile network operator in enhancing operational efficiency and providing better network quality to MTN users.
According to Huawei, MTN and Huawei have been long-term partners in managed services, where Huawei has leveraged its strong understanding of MTN’s business objectives to deliver solutions that meet the evolving needs of the operator.
In the next five years, Huawei will continue to operate, optimize, transform and improve MTN’s operations and services with Huawei’s Managed Services Unified Platform (MSUP) and support from its global expertise in MAI (Measure, Analyze, Improve), to ensure that greater efficiency and business value can be achieved at MTN, the company said in a statement.
