MTN Group says it has appointed Network International, a company that helps businesses with digital payments in the Middle East and Africa, as a Payment Processor for the fintech unit of the telecoms group.

This partnership is a major step in expanding Network’s work in Africa, adding to its growing number of issuer processing collaborations across the continent, MTN says in a statement.

Network International will provide a full range of services, including transaction processing, card management, and online fraud prevention. This will allow MTN Fintech users to seamlessly access both traditional mobile financial services and innovative digital payment solutions.

The collaboration which will roll out card issuance products in key MTN markets is fully operational in Rwanda and soon to be included countries are Uganda, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria.
