The Federal Government says the National Single Window (NSW), a centralised digital platform designed to streamline import, export, and transit processes, is a major game-changer for the economy.
Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, Minister of State for Finance, says the centralised digital platform forms part of a broader plan to digitalise Nigeria’s trade ecosystem while speaking at the National Single Window (NSW) Industry and Stakeholder Forum in Lagos.
The Minister of State for Finance, who describes the initiative as a transformative leap for Nigeria’s economy says that “the National Single Window is a game-changer for Nigeria’s economy. It will position our nation as a beacon of trade efficiency and progress on the African continent and beyond.”

Minister: National Single Window will reduce bureaucracy and increase transparency
According to her, the NSW is a centralised digital platform that allows traders to manage all regulatory requirements for import, export, and transit-related transactions through a single interface.
The Minister explains that the platform would help “reducing bureaucratic hurdles and increasing transparency” making trade operations more seamless and efficient.
“This innovative platform,” Dr. Uzoka-Anite, “is expected to generate significant revenue, with the potential to cut costs and reduce port delays.”
She adds that the success of the initiative depends on collaboration across various sectors. “The successful implementation of the National Single Window requires a strong commitment from all stakeholders, including government agencies, the private sector, and civil society.”

With this development, the Minister says, Nigeria joins countries like Singapore, South Korea, and Rwanda that have successfully implemented similar platforms to enhance trade efficiency.
The NSW is expected to increase trade volume, boost revenue collection, and attract foreign investment, further strengthening Nigeria’s position as a regional trade hub, Dr. Uzoka-Anite adds.
