The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced “Smart Communities” as the country’s theme at the ITU Telecom World 2016 scheduled to hold later this year in Bangkok, Thailand.

The theme tilted “Smart Communities: The key to a digital Nigeria” was  disclosed through the Facebook page of the Nigerian telecoms regulator.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which is the official organizer of the event, said the event will combine a global technology exhibition, a knowledge-sharing forum, a networking hub for corporations, governments and SMEs, as well as Awards that recognize excellence and innovation in ICT solutions.

Nigeria will use the ITU Telecom World to showcase its achievements and opportunities in its fast growing ICT Sector, NCC says.
