The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is calling for entries from eligible undergraduates in its essay competition titled “Broadband: A Catalyst for National Development.”
According to the telecoms regulator, the competition was created to increase awareness on broadband development in Nigeria, engage and enhance research skills. It will also encourage competition and academic excellence and building capacity of undergraduates.
Interested undergraduates are expected to submit entries of not more than 2500 words with abstract, introduction, main body conclusion and references to essay@ncc.gov.ng.
The first prize winner gets 500,000 Naira cash prize, a laptop and printer. Second and third prize winners will go home with 300,000 and 200,000 Naira cash prize respectively. There will also be consolation prizes for the participants that make the first ten list.
All entries are expected before or on January 13, 2015. Winning entries will be announced by the first quarter of 2015, according to the telecoms regulator.
