Nigeria is pushing to support research into Information Technology (IT)

The Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) has opened application for the award of scholarship and sponsorship to interested beneficiaries across the country.

The award categories include undergraduate, postgraduate (M.Sc. and Ph.D.), research grant, and conference & workshop attendance (Local and International).

According to NCS, interested beneficiaries for all categories of award must be active members of NCS and CPN, except for candidates for undergraduate scholarship who are only required to be members of NCS. For undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships, candidates must be enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution.

Candidate seeking for the grant, relevance of the research to National technology development is essential. Candidates for conference/workshop sponsorship must be active both at local chapters and national level. The field of interest is Computer Science/Information Technology or any related discipline, according to NCS.

Interested candidates can complete the application form on www.ncs.org.ng. Application closes on May 30, 2016.
