Microsoft will showcase first in Africa Virtual Reality and Holograms in this year edition of Nerds Unite in Lagos, MainOne, organisers of the tech event has said.
Nerds Unite, an annual event that brings together influencers, decision makers, managers and professionals in the Nigerian Information Technology (IT) industry to connect, network, share ideas, is organised by the Nigerian telecoms service and network solutions provider, MainOne.
Scheduled to hold on February 17, 2017 at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, MainOne, says the one-day programme will feature world-class leaders from global, blue chip IT firms sharing knowledge in new trends and other disruptive technologies facing today’s tech landscape.
One of the industry leaders expected to speak at the event is Tomer Erez, Radware’s Director of Sales.
”One of the lineups of the event is the showcasing of Microsoft’s Virtual Reality and Holograms. Microsoft, an American tech Company, introduced what it described as the world’s first self contained holographic computer called Microsoft Hololens on January 21st, 2015 and further combined the Holographic computing and its Virtual Reality innovation.
”Today, Microsoft is gradually making its Hololens available in countries across the world and the company will be giving participants of the event the opportunity to witness the live showcasing of the new technology.”
MainOne says the event will also provide participants the opportunity to join the launch of the Internet Society, Opportunity to view demos, explore and collaborate on the latest solutions from the industry’s top vendors at the exhibitions, opportunity to meet colleagues, industry experts, and share ideas, insights and competitive intelligence and also win gifts.
