NIGCOMSAT Limited and the Technology Development for Poverty Alleviation Initiative (TD4PAI) have announced an agritech partnership to transform agriculture in Nigeria through innovative technology solutions.
The collaboration seeks to leverage cutting-edge advancements to boost Nigeria’s agricultural sector, Mrs. Jane Egerton-Idehen, CEO of NIGCOMSAT.

NIGCOMSAT CEO: Agritech can grow Nigeria’s digital economy
Egerton-Idehen underscored the importance of fostering local innovation to strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy. Her visit to TD4PAI in Kuje, Abuja showcased their real-time data solutions designed to enhance agricultural productivity through IoT sensors and analytical dashboards, she said.
Situated within the Kuje Area Council, TD4PAI serves as an innovation charity and rural community hub dedicated to closing digital skills gaps, particularly among underserved communities.

Egerton-Idehen highlighted that during their visit, the NIGCOMSAT team had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge innovations like the Unity Board (AI/IoT STEAM Education Kit) and Udene Board (RFID/IoT DAQaaS Platform). These versatile IoT devices, she said, are paving the way in sectors such as agriculture, smart cities, education, and industrial automation.
She expressed enthusiasm about combining these solutions with NIGCOMSAT’s satellite connectivity, envisioning smart solutions that can benefit various sectors regardless of location.
Egerton-Idehen particularly emphasized the potential for IoT technology to revolutionise farming practices through effective soil monitoring initiatives starting locally.
The TD4PAI collaboration with NIGCOMSAT is poised to fast-track these technological advancements, with the ultimate goal of co-creating a prosperous future for Nigeria, she said.
