Engr. Aliyu Aziz, Director General/ CEO, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), the identity management agency of Nigeria, explains how the national identity programme helps to build trust as the country heads toward a knowledge economy.
The NIMC Director General/ CEO, who delivered the keynote address tagged ‘National Identity Management: Unlocking Possibilities for Knowledge-Driven Nigeria’ at the Technology Times Outlook 2017 Business Summit with the theme ‘National Identity-Unlocking Possibilities for Knowledge-Driven Nigeria’, held in Lagos on the 23rd and 24th of February, at the Muson Centre, Onikan.
Engr. Aziz outlines the key components of the National Identity Database (NIDB) and the National Identification Number (NIN), which is a non-intelligent set of numbers assigned to an individual upon successful enrollment and their importance for the economy.
The Summit is organised by Technology Times, a provider of news, information and events, to create a technology thought leadership platform for Nigerian information and communication technology (ICT).
