
Nigeria plans Internet of Things (IoT) Centres in six Federal Secondary schools across the country to promote involvement of students in ICT.
Mallam Adamu Adamu, Minister of Education, unfolded the IoT plan during the commissioning of an IoT Center at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Bwari.

One centre has been established in Federal Science Technical College, Yaba, Lagos, the Minister says adding that centres will also be established in Queens College, Lagos, Federal Government College, Enugu, Bauchi, Benin and Kano.
The Minister, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Sonny Echono, says stated that the development of the IoT Centre was aimed at turning the schools into smart schools for teaching and learning.
The programme is also hoped to help set up right new generation of technology creators who will become problem solvers and job creators globally.
The Minister asks the students not to misuse the opportunity offered to them but to think of productive things to do with what they have learnt.
