A Nigerian-owned, Canadian-based startup called VerveAR is making waves in the e-commerce world with its use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology.

VerveAR’s web-based platform provides online retailers with a powerful tool to create 3D models of their products and integrate them into AR experiences for their customers.

What is Augmented Reality (AR)?

AR enhances the real world with computer-generated elements. According to Wikipedia, “Augmented reality is an interactive experience that combines the real world and computer-generated content. The content can span multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic.”

In the context of e-commerce, AR allows customers to virtually try on products before they buy them. Imagine being able to see how a pair of glasses would look on your face or how a new piece of furniture would fit in your living room, without physically going to the store or purchasing that item.

They offer products such as an AI 3D Upscaler, Sneakers, Glasses, Hat, Wristwatch try-on, and a furniture viewer.

Partnerships

VerveAR has a partnership with Instagram, a photo and video sharing social networking service, which is a major player in social media. This collaboration allows brands to integrate AR try-on features directly into their Instagram shopping sections.

The e-commerce solutions company has also partnered with the French multinational luxury house, Dior, to launch 3D and AR shopping experiences for some Dior products.

VerveAR’s AR solutions offer a win-win situation for both businesses and consumers. Here’s how:

– Enhanced Customer Experience: AR try-on features allow customers to interact with products in a more engaging way, leading to increased satisfaction and confidence in their purchases.

– Increased Sales and Engagement: By capturing customer attention with interactive features, VerveAR’s technology can help businesses drive sales and boost engagement rates.

– Valuable Data and Insights: VerveAR’s platform provides brands with valuable data on how customers interact with their AR experiences. This data can be used to optimize marketing strategies and product offerings.

Looking ahead, the company plans to introduce a new feature to their service offerings. Danjuma Mohammed, the startup’s founder, announced via his X handle (@donny_womack) the upcoming Verve AR Mirror. This product, which enables shoppers to view products on their body while in-store is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025, Mohammed said.
