Nigerian car owners who are disturbed by the increasing menace of car vandalism in the country can now sleep with both eyes closed as Concept Nova, an indigenous technology company introduces C-Protect for the automobile industry.
C-Protect is an invisible coat of film that is installed on car side glasses and vents to prevent the glass from shattering in an event of accidental glass break, theft or vandalism.
Concept Nova says the device has a protective film that holds all the pieces together, protecting occupants from injury, as well as denying entry to a potential thief.
‘’In an event of bomb blast, a square meter of glass can produce up to 1,800 razor sharp fragments. These flying glass particles cause more damage, injury and death than the explosion most times”, the company says.
‘”Our anti-shatter solution safeguards your asset, employees and members of the public, from flying glass particles in a case of such disaster. The protective film can also be used to protect glass windows in a building, providing the same benefits” Concept Nova says.
An innovation like the C-Protect comes handy in cities like Lagos, where in recent times motorist are frequently attacked by traffic rubbers who go as far as shattering car glasses when refused access by the owners, according to the company.
Among its features, C-Protect is available in optically-clear version; prevents deadly flying glass stemming from vehicle accidents and its virtually indestructible film creates an invisible coat of armour between occupants of the vehicle and violent assailants, makers of the system says.
