The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) says it now has 10,000 National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment centres operating across Nigeria and in the Diaspora amid the September 14 deadline for NIN-SIM linkage.
The Federal identity agency, which advises individuals who are yet to enroll to visit any of the centre to obtain their NINs, assures Nigerians and legal residents that enrolment, verification, data modification, and other services are running smoothly.
Kayode Adegoke, Head, Corporate Communications at NIMC says is a statement that, “The Commission wishes to reiterate that all its over Ten Thousand NIN enrolment centres across the country and in the diaspora are open for NIN enrolment. Nigerians and legal residents can visit any of the centres to enrol and be issued the NIN. This assurance is given in light of the 14th September 2024 deadline for the NIN-SIM linkage.”
Data Modification and Self-Service Portal
For those needing to modify their NIN data, NIMC says that its Self-Service portal can be found on https://selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng/ where updates can be made under specified terms and conditions.
Free Enrollment and Reporting Channels
NIMC says that NIN enrollment is free highlighting its commitment to zero tolerance for extortion or unethical practices. Nigerians can report such misconduct directly through email to nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng or via the phone line 07002255646, the agency says. Additional enquiries on enrolment centres and processes can be made through its official website on nimc.gov.ng.
