The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is set to debut a contactless passport renewal system on November 1, enabling Nigerians to apply for renewals without visiting any NIS office.
The phased rollout will begin with Canada on November 1, followed by launches in the United States, United Kingdom, and Italy on November 15, before expanding to Nigeria and the rest of the world by December 1, according to NIS.

Through the NIS mobile app or website, users can complete the entire process from home, including biometric capture via smartphone.
