The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) have honoured winners of the iHatch Startup Incubation Programme Cohort III celebrating the achievements of Nigeria’s emerging tech innovators.
Kashifu Inuwa, NITDA’s Director General, and Mr. Kazuyoshi Matsunaga, Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, commended the startups for their exceptional contributions to the country’s digital economy.
“In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s priority area of Accelerating Diversification through Industrialisation, Digitisation, Creative Arts, Manufacturing and Innovation, IHatch programme is fostering a thriving ecosystem for startups, empowering the next generation of tech innovators in Nigeria,” according to NITDA.
Inuwa highlights that the iHatch programme, a collaboration between NITDA and JICA, is a key initiative under NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0), which aims to forge strategic partnerships and cultivate an innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nigeria.
He emphasises the importance of such initiatives in advancing Nigeria’s economic diversification through technology and innovation. He noted that the iHatch programme plays a crucial role in positioning Nigeria as a leader in digital innovation across Africa.
