The programme, the agency said, aims to propel Nigeria towards achieving a 70% digital literacy rate by 2027.
‘Digital Literacy for All‘ programme goals and objectives
According to NITDA, the initiative will equip individuals with the necessary tools to access and utilise online resources for education, employment, and government services safely. It will also help them to protect themselves online from cyber threats and misinformation. They are also expected to be able to communicate and collaborate effectively using digital tools. They will also develop the digital fluency required for many in-demand jobs.
Consideration will be given to translating content into local languages to ensure accessibility and cater to diverse audiences across Nigeria., NITDA said.
This approach aims to make digital literacy inclusive and comprehensive, reaching even the most remote and underserved communities, according to NITDA.
The agency also emphasised the importance of digital safety and security that ensures that individuals can navigate the digital space confidently and securely. By equipping citizens with these essential skills, NITDA said that it aims to create a digitally-inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
