The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has underscored the critical role of AI-driven security solutions to boost Nigeria’s security.

Mr. Kashifu Inuwa, Director General of NITDA, made the observation during a recent visit to the National Institute of Security Studies (NISS) in Abuja.

This visit was pivotal in fortifying collaboration between NITDA and NISS, culminating in a compelling lecture to 92 participants from diverse security agencies currently undergoing training at the Institute, NITDA said in a statement.

The lecture, titled ‘Impact of Artificial Intelligence Deployment on Security and Emerging Technologies: A Global Perspective,’ underscored the NITDA DG’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance national security strategies.

During the presentation, he delved into the foundational principles of AI and its transformative applications within security and counter-terrorism frameworks.

The engagement with the 92 participants, comprising a diverse cohort from various security agencies, provided a fertile ground for cross-pollination of ideas and the exploration of AI-driven strategies tailored to meet Nigeria’s unique security challenges.
